The safest and most effective sanitizer, it reverts to pure oxygen after about 20 minutes. Ozone is the preferred sanitizer in all food packaging operations, throughout the world today. It is the latest, and most effective technology available.
3. Many water bottlers use chemicals, such as formaldehyde or strong solvents, to sterilize their cooler bottles. Others use bottles made of plastics which may not be approved for food service. We don’t want any chemical residues to get into our water, so we wash our cooler bottles with biological all-natural soap. Laboratory tests repeatedly prove that our bottled water contains no chemical contaminants of any kind.
5. Many “spring water” bottlers reportedly mislead their customers regarding the kind of water that is actually in the bottle, or where it really comes from. They bottle water from numerous sources, many of which are not true springs. This blending, or “compositing”, as it is known in the industry, makes it difficult for the consumer to know what is in the bottle. There is also a lot of deception regarding the source from which the water comes. Some of the (big) brands have been leading the public to believe that their water comes from springs that actually dried up decades ago ! Others have been bottling water right out of the city water main, and calling it “spring water”. Federal and State regulators have let things slide too long, partly because there hasn’t been enough money for monitoring, and partly because the “big boys” have the monetary clout to keep things quiet.
Chilmark Springwater actually does come from a true spring, as defined in the Federal regulations. 100% of the water in our bottles comes from our single spring source. We don’t blend or “composite”. We own our source, and we don’t buy water from anywhere else. Chilmark Springwater is very soft, is totally contaminant free, and has an extremely low “total dissolved solids” count. Its laboratory analysis enables it to compare favorably with any bottled natural spring water on the market.
6. Some of the big companies have had problems, on occasion, with bacterial and /or other contamination. Their operations are huge, they are concerned primarily with profits, and they don’t know, or care about, their individual customers. Chilmark Spring Water Co., Inc., on the other hand, is a small company. We know each of our customers, and they are important to us. We want them to drink only water that is good for their health. Massachusetts has the most stringent bottled water regulations in the country, and we go out of our way to comply with them. Both our spring water source, and our bottled products are tested regularly, in accordance with all Federal and State regulations. Although we are only required to test our bottled water once a week, we voluntarily test each and every batch that we bottle. No water is permitted to leave our warehouse until it has been certified bacteria free by a Massachusetts approved laboratory. We spare no efforts to ensure that our products remain healthy, and of consistently superior quality.
