For 7 ½ years, Chilmark Spring Water Co. had a policy of free deliveries for all orders on Martha’s Vineyard. During this time, costs of gasoline, insurance, vehicle repairs and maintenance, and labor went “through the roof”. It presently costs us over $25.00 for each delivery we make, so we loose money on every small order we deliver. As water bottlers and wholesalers, we are not in the business of retail distribution. Therefore, the following delivery policies have applied since April 1st, 2008:
1. All orders totaling $40.00 or more, delivered to one address on Martha’s Vineyard will be billed $5.00 for delivery (Chappy Ferry and “Same Day Delivery” charges are extra),
2. All orders totaling less than $40.00 must be picked up at our warehouse,
3. Split orders ( product delivered to two or more locations) will be treated as separate orders, with respect to quantity pricing, and also delivery charges. The quantity delivered to each address must be $40.00 or more, and the $5.00 charge shall apply to each delivery,
4. Orders shipped to off-island addresses will be billed for freight at the best available rate, plus a $10.00 Handling Fee. The handling fee shall not apply to “skid lot” orders. Prices and terms are somewhat negotiable for larger (contract) orders. Truckload orders (1,000 ) cases can be shipped in your truck or ours, FOB Edgartown, MA. While the accelerating prices of oil and energy have put up our costs of bottles, caps, cartons and shipping, we continue to hold the line on the prices of our products. However, we must recover a portion of our escalating costs, so that we can continue to offer our customers a delivery service that ranks amongst the best in the industry. As always, we will make every attempt to deliver your order within 48 hours of receipt. If you must have same day delivery, and if we can accommodate you, there will be a $15.00 “Same Day Delivery” charge.
